Eccentric Artists Gardens banner

I would rather look at plants than wrestle with them or their pesky sidekicks, the weeds. I do think weeds are plants. I say, if it’s green, let it grow. These gardens are about green and many other colors. From the indigo and shell walls of one garden to the sky blue and orange of another, the colors can be strong or subtle. The colors of cut stone, steel, lichen and baby Christmas trees are all over these gardens and the art work created from visiting
these spots.

When I visit these eccentric gardens I sketch and take photos. I go to my studio, mix paint and then put whatever surfaces I’m going to work on down on the floor. I start by spilling, pushing and pulling the paint across the surfaces. I use the colors I have witnessed at the gardens. I would like to have the juiciness of the paint show on the surface. I like my paintings to
be juicy.

This has been a multi-joy project. We’ve all had a good time preparing gardens and art for this show and tour. Go for the joy, everybody.
